Bond set for former Titans scout accused of poisoning pregnant girlfriend

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A bond has been set at $2,500,000 for the former Titans scout accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend. Blaise Taylor, 27, was arrested in Utah on two counts of first-degree murder after the poisoning death of his girlfriend Jade Benning and her 5-month-old fetus. Earlier this month, Taylor made his first court appearance via video conference. The district attorney's office is pursuing life in prison without parole for Taylor under accused circumstances that the defendant knew the victim was pregnant, committed the murder knowingly and committed the murder against a person less than 12 years old. Cambria Co. woman sentenced to jail time in healthcare fraud case

Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — Federal authorities say a Cambria County woman has been sentenced to 30 months in prison after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud. Prosecutors allege that Florentina Mayko defrauded Medicare and the Department of Health and Human Services by submitting “unnecessary” urine tests, from opioid patients, while working at a medical clinic. Investigators say Mayko then billed Medicare for over $10 million for those tests. Read More...

Uvalde families sue Meta, Call of Duty company, and gun manufacturer

UVALDE, Texas - Uvalde families filed a lawsuit against multiple companies Friday, on the second anniversary of the Robb Elementary shooting, claiming they enabled firearm manufacturers to advertise to children. Families of the victims and survivors of the Robb Elementary School massacre have filed wrongful death lawsuits against Meta, Instagram’s parent company; Activision, the maker of Call of Duty; and Daniel Defense, the manufacturer of the AR-15 style assault rifle used in the 2022 attack.
