MCALLEN, Texas (KABB) — NASA confirmed that a 1000-pound meteor entered the atmosphere on February 15. According to NASA, the meteor was seen at around 5:23 p.m. near McAllen, Texas. The meteor's speed was about 27,000 miles per hour, and it had the same amount of energy as 8 tons of TNT. WASHINGTON (TND) — People across the Northern Hemisphere were treated to a dazzling light show late Friday and early Saturday after a rare solar storm swept Earth. NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center said Saturday morning on X that extreme G5 conditions were observed and there have been reports of "power grid irregularities and degradation to high-frequency communications and GPS."
