1 person dies in accident on Route 53 in Cambria County

WILMORE BOROUGH – The coroner was called to the scene of a fatal single-vehicle crash along Route 53 Saturday morning. Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees said the pickup truck, a black Ford F-150, was traveling south on Route 53 when the truck crossed the center line and struck a tree head-on. The accident occurred around 8:30 a.m. Lees said Jerry Kinback, 59, of Wilmore, was the driver of the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene. Read More...

Automaker BMW names production chief Zipse as new CEO

FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — BMW has named its top production manager, Oliver Zipse, as CEO to lead the luxury automaker through a shift to new ways of doing business such as electric vehicles and offering cars on a per-use basis. The company said Thursday that Zipse, 55, would succeed Harald Krueger on Aug. 16. Krueger, 53, had said on July 5 he wouldn't seek to renew his contract when it expires next May. Read More...

Ebensburg Borough closes municipal building to public due to Cambria County COVID-19 surge

EBENSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — Ebensburg Borough officials say they’re closing the municipal building to the public because of Cambria County’s recent spike in COVID-19 cases. Cambria County reported 30 new coronavirus cases Wednesday. According to the borough’s Facebook page, staff will still be working, and payments may still be dropped off onsite in the mail slot.
