CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Federal authorities say the man who pleaded guilty to fatally striking a fellow Penn State student with his car is no longer in the United States after being granted what is termed "voluntary departure."
Ahmed Alqubaisi was charged last September after police say he reportedly lost control of his vehicle and struck 25-year-old Lovisa Arnesson-Cronhamre, who was jogging along Park Avenue, near Penn State’s campus. Read More...
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — The Miss America Organization suspended its CEO on Friday, less than 24 hours afterleaked emails surfaced showing him and others disparaging the appearance, intellect and sex lives of former Miss Americas.
Sam Haskell said he will abide by the suspension, even while decrying the Huffington Post story on Thursday that publicized the emails as "unkind and untrue."
"My mistake is a mistake of words," Haskell wrote in a statement issued Friday night, shortly after the board suspended him indefinitely while it investigates the situation. Read More...
Pittsburgh (WJAC) — Pittsburgh Pirates third-baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes was announced Sunday as one of Major League Baseball's "Gold Glove" recipients for the 2023 season.
Hayes' achievement ended a 10-year streak of winning the Gold Glove award by St. Louis Cardinals' third-baseman Nolan Arenado.
