Thousands of people gathered in the streets of Altoona today for the 21st annual Hoopsfest.
Hoopsfest founder Jim Kilmartin said the event means much more to the community than just being a basketball tournament.

CENTRE CO, Pa (WJAC) — UPDATE:
Centre County Deputy Coroner Judy Pleskonko has identified the victim of Friday night's fatal hit-and-run crash along Penns Valley Road (Route 45), according to a news release.
Pleskonko identified the victim as 23-year-old John David King of Penn Township, the release states.
Officials say King was operating a non-motorized scooter along the roadway when he was stuck by a vehicle.
Following an autopsy, Pleskonko says the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head. Read More...
