New Christmas program to help 30 families in Elk County

JOHNSONBURG - Volunteers in Elk County are working to make Christmas bright for those struggling in their community. Volunteer Marissa Amspacher said the program started with a generous donation from a secret Santa to buy gifts for local children. "Then we thought, what else can we do?" Amspacher said. CLEARFIELD -- Friday night at 7:00 p.m. will feature some of the best football Central PA has to offer suiting up for the final time as high school athletes. The 35th annual Lezzer Lumber Classic is set for Clearfield High School pitting the North, guided by Bald Eagle head coach Jesse Nagle, against the South, led by Juniata Valley head coach Bill Musser. WASHINGTON (AP) — Four members of the Oath Keepers were convicted Monday of seditious conspiracy in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack in the second major trial of far-right extremists accused of plotting to forcibly keep President Donald Trump in power. The verdict against Joseph Hackett of Sarasota, Florida; Roberto Minuta of Prosper, Texas; David Moerschel of Punta Gorda, Florida; and Edward Vallejo of Phoenix comes weeks after after a different jury convicted the group's leader, Stewart Rhodes, in the mob's attack that halted the certification of President Joe Biden's electoral victory.
